Advocating for Motherless Mothers: Raising Awareness, Changing Systems

At The Motherless Mothers, we are dedicated to advocating for the recognition and support of women navigating motherhood without their own mothers. Our goal is to bring this often-overlooked group into the spotlight—pushing for changes in how society, healthcare professionals, and mental health services address the unique needs of motherless mothers.

Our Advocacy Efforts Focus On:

  • Public Awareness Campaigns: Raising awareness about the emotional, psychological, and practical challenges motherless mothers face, ensuring their stories are heard and their needs are recognised.

  • Training for Healthcare Professionals: Working with midwives, doctors, and mental health professionals to educate them on the specific struggles of motherless mothers and how they can offer meaningful support in both prenatal and postnatal care.

  • Government and Policy Change: Advocating for mental health policies that address the unique grief and trauma experienced by motherless mothers, including access to specialised care and resources.

  • Petitions for Change: organising petitions to influence legislation, healthcare protocols, and policies that can better support motherless mothers through systemic change.
